Work Experience
Freelance 04/2022 – PRESENT
Since April 2022 I am working on a freelance basis. I am open for all kinds of projects where my skills and knowledge seem fitting, be it Digital Analytics or Software Engineering – or both. I prefer working in agile environments with a lot of flexibility and self-responsibility.
priorist GmbH 05/2019 – 03/2022
SOFTWARE ENGINEER
I already joined priorist part-time while I was still working at T4MEDIA. Since I only worked for one to two days per week, I started slowly and was entrusted with smaller projects. Since it was my first time working as a "real" developer, I had to learn a lot of new things: working properly with git, setting up development environments and actually programming in languages I wasn't that familiar with at the beginning.
However, I quickly gained traction and was getting more confident in working on projects alone. My first projects involved website relaunches in Wordpress and Typo3, involving both theme and plugin development. I worked closely with project management to understand and fulfill requirements, while being in constant exchange with my developer team.
After some months, I was also involved in working on Education Manager, a Django-based software featuring a React-based frontend. I worked together with Product Management and Design to further improve UX and to implement new features like invoice generation.
In addition, I also built the product website linked above (i.e. design, content, technical implementation), created a generic React app as connector to Education Manager and created a fictional company as an interactive example to showcase our product.
Although priorist proved to be an excellent employer, I started to realize during 2021 that I wanted to work on my own. That's why I decided to quit my job and started working as a freelancer as of 04/2022.
T4MEDIA. GMBH 03/2013 – 06/2020
SENIOR DIGITAL ANALYTICS ARCHITECT
After an additional year of work, we decided to introduce new roles to better reflect what individuals in our team were doing. In my role as Senior Digital Analytics Architect I was primarily entrusted to work with our key clients.
I consulted regarding proper approaches for digital marketing infrastructures and was responsible for actually implementing them. Working with Adobe Launch, I implemented digital marketing tools like Adobe Analytics, Adobe Target, Adobe Audience Manager or Salesforce DMP. Since the client's web platforms spanned multiple CMS-based websites, single page applications and apps, I was involved in multiple agile teams working on these solutions.
After some years, I also became heavily involved in customer segmentation, personalization and A/B testing projects. I was responsible for use case development, technical proof of concepts and actually implementing those measures in Adobe Target.
I decided to leave T4MEDIA. mainly because I wasn't able to pursue my interest in technical details as much as I've liked to. It was time for me to try something new.
SENIOR DIGITAL ANALYST
After working for two years and gaining a lot of experience, I gained seniorship and was also responsible for grooming and mentoring colleagues. Additionally, since T4MEDIA. was constantly growing, I was also heavily involved in discussions about how we can work effectively together.
My daily work shifted from data reporting and visualization to a more technical approach. I was mostly involved in developing analytics concepts and implementing them in close cooperation with developing parties from our clients.
DIGITAL ANALYTICS CONSULTANT
I started working at T4MEDIA. shortly after I finished my bachelor's study. It was my first real job experience (apart from some internships) and at that time, Web Analytics was in the early stages of development – at least in Germany. So I was faced with fairly new, quickly changing concepts that I had to acquire on the job while trying to settle in.
I worked on multiple clients in different industries (mainly automotive), at first with a strong emphasis on reporting data in Excel. Quickly I gained additional responsibilities like project management, developing tracking specifications and consulting.
It was also during this time that tag management solutions became increasingly popular and I was able to begin shaping the digital marketing infrastructure of one of our main clients with Adobe Dynamic Tag Management (later Adobe Launch).
